WELCOME to the Cloud Cryptid Friendship Society! As a new member, you’re joining a small but growing group of devoted friends, working tirelessly to protect and befriend our local Cloud Cryptid population.
What is a Cloud Cryptid?
Our skies, seas and streets are full of these mysterious but loveable creatures. As consumers of the Internet’s noise and detritus, Cloud Cryptids are a keystone species in our Internet ecosystem, with populations clustering around physical communications infrastructure. Their existence long denied by authorities, Cloud Cryptids have been observed for decades and pose no visible threat to humans.
Our Mission
The Singapore Chapter of the Cloud Cryptid Friendship Society is embarking on the first comprehensive census of Cloud Cryptids on the island. In the wake of recent Internet outages, we need your help to connect with and catalogue our local Cloud Cryptid population, and ensure their continued survival.
The online performance is followed by a conversation with SAM curator Joella Kiu. This session is held in conjunction with the series Skill Futures.
About the Artist
Feelers is a research lab focused on the intersections of art and technology. Our projects are invitations to think critically and empathetically about our world; and to build a community that learns and works together. Feelers is a bid for another world to come into being. Glimpses of it are found in how we sustain ourselves, how we choose to listen instead of turn away, and how we question paradigms of acceleration and extraction. While art and technology form key fields of research, they continually lead us back to one another, which is where our real work takes place.
